The provincial government is asking Ontarians for feedback to help guide the regulatory framework that will govern marijuana legalization in Ontario.
Feedback from the survey will help the government develop regulations surrounding the distribution, sale and consumption of marijuana.
“[The survey will carry] lots of weight,” said Ontario Attorney General Yasir Naqvi, in conversation with Afternoon Drive host Chris dela Torre.
“We’re working on fairly tight timelines, but Ontario is working to develop this balanced regulatory framework. It’s important from our perspective to hear directly from Ontarians.”
The federal government introduced legislation, in April 2017, to legalize and regulate recreational cannabis in Canada. If the proposed Cannabis Act passes, recreational marijuana will be legalized across the country by July 2018.
To participate in the survey, visit ontario.ca/cannabis before July 31.
